The new Učka tunnel tube is 5,634 meters long and is currently the most modern tunnel in Croatia, having been under construction for three years.
We have successfully installed a modern radio system in the new Učka tunnel tube, which is compatible with the existing radio system in the old tube.
Four FM radio stations (HR2, Radio Rijeka, Radio Istra, and Radio Pula) are now available in the tunnel. The tunnel, pedestrian crosswalks, and both portals are covered by the TETRA signal.
Five tunnel amplifier substations of the radio system have been installed in the tunnel, a radiating cable has been laid along the entire length of the tunnel, and 12 antennas have been installed in the pedestrian crosswalks. In the BINA Istra administration building, a central station has been installed and prepared for the upgrade with additional stations in the second tube. An antenna system for receiving and covering the signal has been installed on the roof.
Tests of the central station and substations were conducted, and the system has been successfully put into operation.
