On 2025, after more than a year of reconstruction, the renovated 40-year-old tube of the Učka Tunnel was officially opened.

The radio system in the reconstructed tube is fully compatible with the system installed in the new tube. Both tubes of the Učka Tunnel now enable re-broadcasting of four FM radio stations (HR2, Radio Rijeka, Radio Istra, and Radio Pula) with a cyclic service message and the possibility of broadcasting emergency information, as well as the DAB+ signal.

Both tunnel tubes, the cross passages, and both tunnel portals are covered by the TETRA system for emergency services, while a redundant network is provided by the analog UHF system.

Seven new tunnel amplifying substations of the radio system have been installed in the tunnel tube, a new radiating cable has been laid along the entire tunnel, and two antennas have been installed at the Istrian portal of the tunnel. The central station has been upgraded and integrated with the radio system of the new tunnel tube. An antenna system for signal reception and coverage has been installed on the roof.

Tests of the central station and substations were carried out, and the system has been successfully commissioned. 25 September
